Due to two of our vet team expanding their own families, FRASER COAST VETERINARY SERVICES has a full time vacancy for an experienced veterinarian to join our work family.

Ideally this is a full time ongoing position. with an anticipated start date during January or February 2022.  However we will consider a fixed term of 6 – 12 months as a contract for an experienced vet to cover parental leave.

The group consists of 2 practices (Maryborough and Childers) and a smaller branch clinic which is rapidly expanding (Howard). The position will be based at our Maryborough practice, but will require the occasional shift at our branch clinic.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation of small animal medicine and routine surgical skills.

Our small animal caseload is busy and interesting.  While we do offer referral, most cases are worked up and treated in-house, providing great exposure to exciting medical and surgery cases.

Our team currently consist of 8 veterinarians with varied interests, which in combination provide optimum care for our patients.  The nursing team and support staff are qualified or studying to gain qualification.

Most importantly, our team is made up of really nice people, who look out for each other and genuinely support each other.

The practices are equipped with digital x ray, dental x ray, ultrasounds, endoscope, IM3 dental machine, Idexx Procyte and Catalyst 1.  We use Univet infusion pumps and syringe pumps and have several Cardell or Surgivet SPO2, capnography and BP monitors.

After hours is shared 1:5 and has nursing support.  Out triage team filters all after hours calls so the vet is not disturbed for non-urgent calls.  After working a weekend, you only work 3 days in the following week.

We are very conscious of supporting our new graduates.  Support is provided throughout your development as a veterinarian, especially during the initial 12 months.
