Apiam Animal Health is seeking an experienced companion animal veterinarian for a leadership position at our busy mixed practice in Dubbo, New South Wales.
The Clinical Lead Veterinarian is a “hands on” senior role which includes mentorship of junior vets. You will be supported within the leadership team by the General Manager Operations North and your Clinic Coordinator.
Experience with all routine companion animal medicine and surgery is essential. An interest and skills in non-routine and orthopaedic surgery is preferred though not essential.
You will see an incredible variety of cases, typical of the work expected in a large rural centre. Our clients want high level patient care so you will be able to work up and treat cases thoroughly.
We will consider a mixed vet or companion/equine vet for this role.
There is no after hours on call requirement in this position.
Formal leadership training will form part of your development plan.
As part of Apiam Animal Health – Australia’s largest rural and production animal veterinary group – we offer considerable opportunities for training, personal development and career progression. Apiam’s clinics are in the heartlands of Australia’s dairy, beef feedlot and pig regions, and include several significant companion animal and equine clinics.
The opportunity to develop extra skills in your area of special interest is encouraged. We offer industry-leading internal training as well as genuine support for your career progression including a formal leadership development program.
Fur Life Vet Dubbo is a busy and truly mixed practice with a varied case load. Team work and collaboration are valued and practiced within the clinic and I found all staff to be extremely welcoming and supportive whilst I was a locum there.
Fur Life Vet Dubbo is a growing team of people who share our vision of “Healthy Animals and Happy People”.
Our focus is building a positive clinic culture with a strong focus on employee wellness.
The overall mix of work at the clinic is approximately 70% companion and 30% large animal (equine and beef cattle).
Dubbo is a vibrant, large and growing regional city (population 58.843) yet we are small enough to still have the easy-going lifestyle associated with a country town, with no traffic jams and everything is close. It is the best of both worlds!
We have great sporting, cultural and recreational facilities as well as good schools, hospital and shopping. Dubbo has a large regional airport with direct flights to all of the eastern capital cities. There are multiple daily flights to Sydney, a short trip of less than 1 hour.
