Terang & Mortlake Veterinary Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious vet who shares our mission: “To enrich the lives of people and animals in our care”. This means that we need someone who not only wants to provide best-practice, proactive and preventative health services to our patients, but also to deliver value with caring, compassionate customer service to our clients.
The position is available due to one of our team moving forward along her career path by transferring to a new role in another Apiam clinic.
If you are after a diverse range of large animal work, then look no further, Terang has it!
We are a 4.5 vet practice with a true mixed animal case load of companion animals, cattle (both dairy and beef), small ruminants and horses.
Located in one of Australia’s largest dairy regions, we provide proactive herd health, farm consultancy, ambulatory and preventative health services to both family and corporate dairy farms. We are always looking for ways of expanding our service to our large animal clients.
We have a linear and sector ultrasound and for the past 4 years have been performing laparoscopic LDA’s.
We also enjoy working with our commercial beef and stud beef operations in the northern part of our practice.
Sheep work is also available for someone with a keen interest to develop that side of the business.
Our companion animal services include first opinion consultations aided by all the diagnostic tools a rural veterinary clinic could dream of, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, ECG, CBC/Biochem Blood machine and anaesthetic monitoring equipment. A couple of our vets also enjoy reproductive work with a variety of breeds utilising the endoscope for TCI’s.
Terang is located just over 2 hours west of Melbourne and 30 minutes from the well serviced scenic coastal town of Warrnambool.
As part of Apiam Animal Health – Australia’s largest rural and production animal veterinary group – we offer considerable opportunities for training, personal development and career progression. Apiam’s clinics are in the heartlands of Australia’s dairy, beef feedlot and pig regions, and include several significant companion animal clinics including a new referral hospital in Bendigo. Opportunities to gain extra skills by spending time in other clinics within our Apiam network are encouraged, and we offer industry-leading internal training as well as genuine support for your career progression.
We have a great clinic team who has fun while delivering a professional and valuable service to our clients. You will be provided with a fully equipped vehicle, AVA membership, Plumbs App subscription and Vet Surgeons Board registrations are included. Our after-hours roster is equally shared and is 1 in 4 to 5. Our full time vets work a standard 38 hour week with time off in lieu if you have a weekend on call. The package includes 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week conference leave and 2 days paid volunteer leave each year.
Although 3-4 years’ mixed practice or cattle experience is preferred, we would also consider an exceptional new or recent graduate for the role. Remuneration will be dependent on experience and the value you can bring to our team.
Our team is built on the core values of COLLABORATION, LEADERSHIP, INTEGRITY, ENJOYMENT and DELIVER VALUE. If this seems like the sort of environment you could thrive in, please contact us:
