Mixed Veterinarian- Border Vets

Border Veterinary Clinic has practices located in picturesque country towns within the Murray region of Victoria – Kerang, Cohuna, and Barham. We service a large area from Swan Hill to Echuca.

This position is eligible for Apiam’s Rural Veterinary Support / Student Debt Reduction program.

Our clinics are mixed practices treating both companion and production animals. The practice caseload comprises 40% dairy, 50% small animals and 5% beef, 5% equine and other species.

The clinics are well equipped with DR Radiography, Idexx Vetlab, all anaesthetic monitoring equipment (including ETCO2), small animal ultrasound, fluid pumps, BCF easiscan curve ultrasound x 3, bull testing equipment, IM3 dental gear, orthopaedic equipment including locking plate and TTA kits, RxWorks software.

The Role

  • Full time (9-day fortnight) or Part Time permanent position available. Other flexible work arrangements will be considered.
  • CE is expected, encouraged, and supported.  As part of Apiam Animal Health, we provide exceptional opportunities for training, personal development and career progression including the Graduate Development Program to support recent grads transition from University to Practice.
  • 1:4 after hours roster or less
  • A Tele-triage nursing team who filters and triages all out of hours calls to minimize vet disturbance when on call.
  • We have a team of 8 experienced mixed and small animal vets for support

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Base salary (plus super) depends on your skills and experience however a vet with over 3 years’ mixed experience can expect upwards of $100,000 and a recently graduated vet with up to 3 years’ experience can expect $70 – 100,000.

  • 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week CE leave plus annual allowance, 5 days paid volunteer leave, paid parental leave.
