Desexing

Desexing your pet is a responsible choice that offers significant health and community benefits. Spaying or neutering can prevent certain types of cancers and reduce unwanted animal behaviour like roaming. By preventing unplanned litters, you also help reduce the strain on community resources, a key goal outlined in the Baw Baw Shire Council’s Domestic Animal Management Plan. We ensure the procedure is safe and comfortable for your pet.

Microchip_lost_pet

Microchipping

A microchip is your lost pet’s best chance for a swift and safe reunion. In Victoria, microchipping is a legal requirement for all cats and dogs by 12 weeks of age. We provide a comprehensive microchipping service that helps you comply with Baw Baw Shire Council registration and ensures your contact details are correctly recorded. Making sure that if your pet is found and taken to the Shire Municipal Pound, they can be identified and returned home to you as quickly as possible.

Dog_vaccinations

Dog Vaccinations

Vaccinations play an important part in being a responsible dog owner and protecting your pet from infectious diseases. We provide essential C5 vaccinations, which protect against dangerous illnesses including Canine Cough and the highly contagious Canine Parvovirus.

A recent, severe outbreak in 2024 of Parvovirus in the nearby Latrobe Valley has highlighted the critical importance of up-to-date immunisations. This painful and often fatal disease can spread easily through the environment. Our tailored puppy programs ensure your new family member is safely immunised before they begin exploring our beautiful local parks and community spaces.

Flea and Tick Prevention

Protecting your pet from parasites is a year-round responsibility, especially in the unique Gippsland environment. Our region is home to the dangerous Paralysis Tick (Ixodes holocyclus), which can be fatal if left untreated.

Critically, pet owners should be aware that Gippsland experiences a bimodal tick season, with two distinct peaks of activity: one in Autumn (February-May) and another in Spring (September-December). We provide expert advice on the most effective preventative products to protect your pet from paralysis ticks, fleas, and heartworm.

Our Warragul veterinary practice is equipped with advanced dental diagnostics, including dental X-rays, which allow us to see what a standard clean misses. A thorough dental health plan is a vital part of your pet’s overall wellness and comfort.
