The Position: 
ACE Laboratory Services currently has a vacancy for an experienced Microbiologist to join our team of a fulltime basis. This exciting opportunity offers diversity and the chance to work within both our diagnostic Veterinary Microbiology and Food Microbiology departments.

This position is responsible for: 

  • Performing Microbiological tests (bacterial enumeration, E. coli, Salmonella and Listeria detection, microscopy, antimicrobial sensitivities etc.)
  • Sample preparation.
  • Interpretation of results and high-level reporting.
  • Following and reviewing standard operating procedures in line with company requirements.
  • Assisting with technical enquiries as required.

Our Ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: 

  • A degree, diploma, or relevant experience in Applied Science.
  • Eligible to join The Australian Society for Microbiology (ASM).
  • Demonstrated understanding of Microbiology principles, especially
  • Relevant NATA industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical and/or food microbiology.
  • Knowledge of QC and QA
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and Good Manufacturing Practices is advantageous.
  • Excellent data entry skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to work 1 in 4 Saturdays.
