Dalby & District Veterinary Services – Mixed Veterinarian

Dalby & District Veterinary Services is one of the expanding Apiam Animal Health group of regional and rural clinics that are committed to enriching the lives of animals, people, and communities.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mixed practice veterinarian to join our wonderful team in Dalby.

The Position:

  • This is a full-time position with a mixed case load.
  • The overall practice mix is approximately 70% companion animals, 30% large animals.
  • The mix for this role is negotiable however our preference is for a vet who is confident with large animal work whilst also helping with the companion animal roster. Ideally it would be 50% large animal and 50% companion animals.
  • Vets work a 4-day week.
  • We do provide an after-hours service for our registered clients. This will be a maximum of 1:4 and possibly less frequent.  We have a dedicated after-hours Triage Nurse Team who answer and filter all calls and reduce unnecessary disturbance to our vets.
  • The role would also require a contribution to our Saturday morning clinic roster

About You:

  • Ideally you will have 3+ years’ experience in mixed practice.
  • ACV Preg Check and BBSE accreditation is advantageous.  If you are working towards these accreditations, then we can help you achieve this.
  • Herd health and interest in feedlots is advantageous. Our team support local feedlot clients in the area with ambulatory services.
  • Orthopedic skills highly regarded.
  • Above all else, we need a genuinely motivated and enthusiastic person who, by example, values and contributes to an amazingly positive workplace culture.
  • You build rapport with people easily and you enjoy working within a supportive team.
  • You are highly organized and can work autonomously as well as collaboratively with your teams.
  • You enjoy teaching and mentoring Vets and nurses to support them in their development
