The Vet Practice is part of Apiam Animal Health, providing veterinary services to country communities. We are an animal practice and canine rehabilitation facility in Whittlesea on the northern outskirts of Melbourne with a great team and great facilities. We believe in providing outstanding patient care and believe in a holistic approach to caring for our patients.

We are looking for a senior veterinary nurse with the right cultural fit to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about implementing their high standards of patient care and can fulfill both hospital and surgical nursing roles. As well as this we are looking for someone who will be responsible for nurse administration and supervision of the nursing staff. This position would suit someone with 4+ years of nursing experience who is looking to further their career.

Part time position, with the opportunity to move to full time hours in the future.

  • Nurse administration: manage nurse consultations and uphold nursing standards and protocols
  • Hospital Supervision: collaborate with the hospital manager to guide and mentor hospital staff
  • Hospital nursing: general care of patients as well as catheterization, blood collection etc as required
  • Surgical nursing: general surgical duties including admission, preparation, anaesthetic monitoring, X-ray assistance, equipment care etc.
  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary Technician Degree is essential
  • 4+ years’ experience with well-rounded nursing skills and experience with training and mentoring other clinical staff
  • Registered Veterinary Nurses are highly regarded.
