Southwest Equine Veterinary Group is composed of an experienced team of equine vets offering dedicated equine veterinary services across the southwest and at our purpose-built clinic. We cater for horses across all disciplines from the racetrack to the family pony including pleasure horses, competition and pony club mounts.

SWE is one of the expanding Apiam Animal Health group of regional and rural clinics that are committed to enriching the lives of animals, people, and communities. We are looking for the right person to become part of our friendly and supportive team.

  • 100% equine role
  • Full time position offered as either a 4-day work week or a 9-day fortnight
  • After hours is shared 1:5 amongst the team
  • Join a team of 5 equine vets with a large knowledge base
  • We require a vet with previous racehorse experience
  • Duties will also involve a full range of equine ambulatory responsibilities, including medicine, lameness exams and workups, surgeries such as stitch-ups and castrations, wound management, dentals, eye exams, health and husbandry advice, race meetings and reproduction work during season.
  • However, we are also keen to speak to new graduates or post internship applicants looking for an equine role with the support of our experienced team.

You are an experienced veterinarian with 5+ years of experience in the equine field. You are looking for a fantastic clinic culture where you can use your skills and experience to provide a high standard of equine veterinary care to the community. We will also consider applications from confident post internship equine veterinarians with racehorse experience.
