Exciting opportunity to become a pig vet and join our experienced team of swine consultants based in Perth.

Our team is passionate about the Australian pork industry and are committed to providing our clients with the highest standard of veterinary service, diagnostics and technology. We look after some of Australia’s leading pork suppliers by providing professional veterinary services, innovative technology, research and development, competitive products and advanced diagnostics. As part of Apiam you will be joining one of Australia’s largest rural and regional veterinary groups providing services to the companion animal and livestock industries. Our purpose is to enrich the lives of animals, people and communities.

This is a full time, 100% swine vet role (with the option of some poultry work if this interests you). No two days at Portec are alike and you will get to experience a diverse range of work from farm and abattoir visits to teaching and training. We service a mix of large corporate and smaller family operated pig and poultry farms and we provide support to our clients in the areas of animal health and farm biosecurity, management and production, quality assurance and animal welfare compliance.

  • Ideally, we are looking for an experienced vet (3+ years), however if you are a motivated and confident recent grad, we also welcome your interest.
  • We are looking for a vet with swine consultancy experience or a mixed vet with production animal experience (population medicine) and a genuine interest in pursuing swine medicine.
  • Someone with great communication skills

Remuneration is dependent on experience and the skills that you will bring.
