We are looking for an experienced vet to join our dynamic, fun loving, family orientated team. If you are a new or recent graduate you are also encouraged to apply.

We are looking for a mixed veterinarian but will also look at companion animal vets.

A full time or permanent part-time position is available. This role has great working hours and a strong support team, as well as many professional development opportunities.

  • Working hours between 8am-5.30pm weekdays and occasional 9-12pm Saturday in a shared rota. Being in a coastal town the caseload is much quieter than the busy city practices.
  • Diverse and mixed caseload to gain experience in an array of fields. The practice is 90% small animal and 10% large animal mainly horses, cattle, goats and alpacas.
  • Well-equipped clinic with modern equipment- Idexx blood machine, digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopes, isolation ward, Vision VPM, IM3 dental machine, ultrasound with colour doppler, Bair Hugger, equine dentistry power float, all large animal equipment.
  • We perform the procedures, and manage the advanced cases, that many clinics refer. So there are many opportunities to learn, train and advance your professional skills especially in orthopaedics, complex soft tissue surgery, advanced medical treatments, chemotherapy and large animal work if desired.
  • Bereavement room for euthanasia – We have a designated room which is a designated for client privacy and comfort and time to grieve. This room is also helpful for lengthy medical discussions.

After hours is triaged so only true emergencies are seen in a shared rota, currently 1:4.  This is the bit when you really get to save the animal and do what you trained for! Backup is always there if required and time off afterwards is incorporated.

  • Remuneration is from $80,000 pa (New Graduate) upwards to $120,000 DOE + super and + after hours bonuses.
