The Finley Veterinary Clinic in the Southern Riverina region was established over 45 years ago and prides itself on playing an important part in the overall animal health and welfare in the region and in the advanced innovative dairying we service.
Do you like working with dairy cattle without the never ending mud and lame cows of Southern Australia? Do you like having plenty of time to spend with your clients working out what’s best for their animal? Then we have the clinic for you!
The Finley and Tocumwal Vet Clinics are looking for another 1-2 vets to work in this fantastic mixed practice. The practice is truly mixed with a varied caseload of all your regular small animal critters seen as well as all sorts of large animals with a focus on Dairy. We have a vet here who has completed membership training in cattle medicine and nutrition.
Like all country clinics on call is required but with the added benefit of generally being quiet allowing you to still enjoy your weekend in the local area. Our clinic’s lead vet plays cricket regularly without issue while on call. We also have a dedicated after-hours triage service which filters all non-urgent calls so as to minimise vet disturbance.
There will be plenty of time to enjoy local activities such as playing with your dogs at the river, koala spotting and getting involved in the local sporting teams. Other weekends can be used exploring the surrounding areas such as the wineries of Rutherglen (1hour away), taking the paddle steamers at Echuca (1.5hours away) or taking a weekend trip to the Victorian high country (2hours) or Melbourne (3hours)
- Full time work is a 9 day fortnight with a choice of day off to suit yourself
- CE bonuses and access to Apiam Animal Health’s library of great education tools
- Use of a clinic car for work
- 8:30-5:30 weekday opening hours with enforced lunch breaks as well as shared Saturday mornings
- All the expected quality toys for a clinic (blood machines, x-ray and ultrasound etc.)
Any veterinarian who values doing a good job for clients, coffee breaks and is keen to have a go is welcome to apply. New grads – we love teaching and mentoring, regularly being one of the favourite placements for the many students that come through our door. If you want to work part time and are happy to assist with on call we would like to hear from you too.
