Trainee Vet Nurse Positions

Trainee Veterinary Nurse – Gippsland Veterinary Hospital 

Full-time or Part-time– Immediate Start

We are looking for new trainee Veterinary Nurses to join our friendly team on a full-time or part-time basis at Maffra. This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on in clinic and is interested in furthering their nursing qualifications.

About the clinic and team
The Maffra hospital is a modern, well-equipped facility with four consult rooms, a dedicated dentistry room, advanced imaging including CT, a large surgical theatre and treatment area, plus hydrotherapy and rehabilitation services.

We service a loyal and diverse client base including progressive dairy and beef producers, as well as a growing population of equine and companion animal owners. With experienced veterinarians and high-quality equipment across all sites, we manage most cases in house and refer very little.

As part of Apiam Animal Health, the clinic also benefits from being connected to a wider network, while still maintaining a close knit, local feel.

About the role
You will be involved in all aspects of nursing support across small and large animal work, including:

• Full-time and part-time positions with afterhours requirements

• Assisting with consultations, surgery and procedures

• Patient care, monitoring and recovery

• Anaesthesia support

• Client communication and education

• Maintaining a clean, well-organised clinic environment

 About you

• Minimum two years’ nursing experience, with farm/disbudding experience preferred

• Flexibility and a positive, team focused approach

• Good communication skills and a genuine care for patients and clients

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A willingness to learn and grow in your role
