Harbour City Veterinary Surgery is a busy, well-established small animal practice located in coastal Central Queensland. We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team in a casual position, working approximately 30 hours per week.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a capable nurse who enjoys a varied role, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity for this position to transition into a permanent ongoing role.

About the Role

As a valued member of our nursing team, you’ll be involved in all aspects of hospital and surgical nursing, including:

  • Anaesthetic monitoring and patient care
  • Pre and post-operative nursing
  • Collecting and processing blood and urine samples using IDEXX equipment
  • Dental procedures
  • Radiology
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Patient admissions and discharges
  • Assisting with cleaning and reception duties as required

Our after-hours roster is shared across the team and supported by Vetriage, helping to filter calls and manage client bookings, ensuring a sustainable approach to on-call work.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident, motivated and enjoys being part of a collaborative team in a busy rural clinic.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Veterinary Technology degree (preferred)
  • At least 2 years’ veterinary nursing experience
  • Strong surgical and anaesthesia nursing skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • A positive attitude and commitment to a supportive workplace culture
  • A willingness to mentor and support colleagues
