The Victorian Equine Group operates Bendigo Equine Hospital and several satellite locations in the Lancefield region, the Nagambie region and in Victoria’s northern regions.
The Bendigo Equine Hospital is a first opinion, referral and 24/7 emergency medical facility. Our team is highly skilled and features both surgical and reproductive specialists, ambulatory and hospital-based clinicians.
Our Lancefield clinic services a number of studs and therefore a large proportion of our veterinary services includes reproductive and neonatal medicine in the breeding season. Alongside this, we offer both ambulatory and on-site general practitioner consultations at our Lancefield base.

We are seeking one or two experienced equine veterinarians to join our team prior to the 2026 breeding season in August. The position includes accommodation on our Lancefield property, from where you will service our studs within the Macedon Ranges Shire. It is essential that you are confident in managing large herds of reproductive mares. You will also be responsible for on-farm neonatal care and general stud medicine whilst being supported by the vets and facilities at our referral hospital in Bendigo.
In addition to stud work, you will be involved in yearling sales management and deliver both ambulatory and on-site veterinary care to clients across the Lancefield region. All while having the back-up of experienced surgeons and specialists. You will participate in an equally shared “out of hours” roster.
We are seeking a dedicated reproductive vet with strong work ethic, excellent relationship building-skills and a commitment to providing exceptional care.
Your skillset includes:
Reproductive Medicine: Proficiency in managing reproductive mares with clinical challenges.
Neonatal Care: Experience in the management of high-risk foals and routine neonatal health checks.
General Practice: Ability to provide routine and emergency ambulatory services.
Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent degree which is recognised in Victoria
