Hunter Equine Centre is seeking a Senior Equine Associate Veterinarian to join our team prior to the 2026 breeding season in August.
The position can be tailored to suit experience and may have responsibility for independent veterinary care on leading thoroughbred stud farms as well as working within a team of ambulatory veterinarians, or in a more supported role assisting senior veterinarians on studs.
Previous experience should include reproductive stud-farm work, with prior roles such as an internship and diagnostic imaging experience is desirable to provide stud farms with a comprehensive service. An interest in sales/yearling or racetrack work would be highly beneficial.
Our clients include some of the most successful and best managed stud farms in the Hunter Valley, with over 1000 mares under our care, and an important yearling sale component. We also service many of the local trainers and pre-trainers in the area and particularly and consider ourselves very fortunate to have such friendly and successful clients.

Selection criteria would necessitate a Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent that can be fully registered in New South Wales (www.vpb.nsw.gov.au). Hunter Equine Centre will assist with visa requirements to work in Australia.
