Experienced Mixed Veterinarian

Singleton & Branxton Veterinary Hospitals | Hunter Valley, NSW

Singleton and Branxton Veterinary Hospitals are seeking an experienced mixed practice veterinarian to join our progressive and growing practice in the beautiful Hunter Valley.

We are a well-established mixed animal practice providing high-quality veterinary care across the Hunter Valley through our two connected hospitals. With the recent expansion of Singleton Veterinary Hospital through the addition of our Branxton clinic, we continue to grow our presence in the region while offering our team greater flexibility, case diversity, and professional development opportunities.

Located within the rapidly expanding Huntlee Estate, Branxton Veterinary Hospital complements our established Singleton hospital, with both clinics operating as one collaborative practice. Our veterinarians work together across both locations, sharing knowledge, support, resources, and clinical expertise.

We enjoy a diverse caseload with strong surgical exposure, including opportunities to further develop your skills in complex soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics if desired.

Why You’ll Love the Hunter Valley

Singleton offers all the conveniences of a large regional town, with riverside living, wineries, cafés, heritage attractions, and easy access to outdoor recreation. Located just two hours from Sydney and under an hour from Newcastle, it provides the perfect balance between lifestyle and career.

Branxton, situated in the heart of wine country, offers access to some of Australia’s best vineyards, restaurants, and scenic landscapes. Newcastle’s beaches are just 45 minutes away, while Sydney is easily accessible in approximately 90 minutes.

About the Role

This position can be taliored to suit full-time or flexible part-time hours. It offers a rewarding and varied caseload, comprising 80% small animal and 20% large (beef/dairy, equine and hobby farms). We run a shared and sustainable afterhours roster, supported by our Vetriage service to filter calls and minimise unnecessary disturbances.

You will have access to purpose-built facilities and modern diagnostic equipment, including state-of-the-art MyLab ultrasound, digital radiography, orthopaedic equipment and IDEXX labs.

About You

We are looking for experienced veterinarian with a minimum of 2 years’ experience who enjoys the diversity and challenges of mixed practice. You will:

  • Be confident managing cases independently while working collaboratively within a team
  • Have excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Enjoy both medical and surgical case work for both small and large animals
  • Be motivated to continue building your clinical knowledge and surgical capabilities in regional practice

Whether your interests lie in medicine, surgery, large animals, orthopaedic skills or staff mentorship and leadership, you’ll be supported by an experienced veterinary and nursing team committed to helping you thrive.

What We Offer

  • Clinical support, mentorship from experienced colleagues and sustainable scheduling to ensure you take your breaks and leave work on time
  • Competitive remuneration starting at $100,000-$160,000 + superannuation
