Join us for an immediate start as we prepare for the launch of our new general practice and referral hospital in Whittlesea. About the Role
As an Experienced Veterinarian, you’ll support our vets and nursing team across a variety of general practice duties. You’ll be part of a growing clinic and play an important role in shaping our workflow and service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake consultations for veterinary clients
Foster and maintain excellent client relations, dealing with client enquiries willingly and in a timely manner both over the phone and face to face
Perform veterinary procedures, including but not limited to routine and non-routine consultations, surgery and dentistry and be prepared to learn and assist with more complicated procedures
Perform routine workup of medical cases with logical progression and evidence-based medicine with consideration towards the economic value of animals if required
Provide advice within the scope of your knowledge and experience on issues such as nutrition, breeding, and general health
Awareness of the scope of your experience and the point at which additional help and expertise is required
Maintain and continue to strive for excellence in practice through continuing professional development
Conducts professional work at all times involving considerable independence of approach
Prescribe and administer medications and anaesthesia
Perform radiographic procedures
Perform pathological testing in accordance with infection control protocols
Perform surgical autopsy and euthanasia as required
Communicate diagnosis and treatment plans to clients
Meet animal health regulatory and legislative requirement
What We Are Looking For
Registration with the State Veterinary Board
Bachelor of Veterinary Science or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
A minimum of two years’ veterinary experience
Ability to contribute to the team and work independently
Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with coworkers and clients
Time management with regard to both punctuality and the ability to complete tasks within a required timeframe
Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to a small animal practice

Based in Whittlesea – Melbourne’s growing northern corridor offering a relaxed lifestyle, parks and trails, strong community feel, and easy access to major shopping hubs and transport links.
The salary offered will be in the range of $130,000 to $150,000 depending on experience and specialisations.
