Key responsibilities include:
- Advanced surgical nursing including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre support
- Preparation and recovery of surgical patients
- Supporting and mentoring junior and trainee nurses
- High quality inpatient care and client communication
- Assisting veterinarians with a varied and interesting caseload
About you
We are looking for someone who brings both skill and quiet leadership to the team. You will ideally have:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a veterinary nurse
- Strong surgical nursing and anaesthesia monitoring skills
- Confidence supporting and guiding other nurses
- A calm, practical approach in a busy clinical environment
- A genuine commitment to patient care and teamwork
Why join Fraser Coast Veterinary Services
- Flexible casual or part time employment options
- Supportive and experienced veterinary and nursing team
- Interesting, varied caseload in a well-equipped clinic
- A workplace that values collaboration, wellbeing and professional respect
- Backing of the wider Apiam Animal Health network. You will be supported by a national network that genuinely values its veterinary nurses. We actively encourage professional development through access to ongoing continuing education, regular nurse focused training and webinars, and supported career conversations. Your wellbeing is a priority, with access to confidential counselling through our Employee Assistance Program, a dedicated Mental Health First Aid Officer, and additional leave initiatives that support work life balance. You will also enjoy staff discounts for your own pets, access to retail and lifestyle discounts and competitive remuneration packages.
Our nurses are a vital part of how our clinic runs, and we truly value the experience and leadership that senior nurses bring to the team.
