Why this role?
This is an outstanding next step for an experienced veterinary nurse or receptionist ready to move into a broader leadership and operations role. You’ll apply your hands-on clinical or front-of-house knowledge while expanding into people leadership, practice management, and continuous improvement.
About the position:
- Provide proactive leadership to foster a positive, collaborative workplace
- Manage clinic operations- resourcing, scheduling, PMS utilisation, and workflow efficiency
- Oversee staff supervision, development, and engagement in partnership with the Clinical Lead
- Promote high standards of care and a strong safety culture, support complex client conversations and complaints
- Drive clinic performance across customer experience, service delivery, and financial outcomes; contribute to budgeting
- Manage stock control, accounts/debtors, and practice compliance
- Cascade communications and champion improvement initiatives across the team and wider Apiam network
About you:
- Certificate IV veterinary nurses, head nurses, practice managers, veterinary receptionists, or vet technicians with proven ability to manage clinics are encouraged to apply. We also welcome applicants from animal health or other industries with proven management experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in team management, rostering, and customer service
- Practice management, business management, or HR experience is advantageous
- Demonstrated track record in leading and motivating teams
- Competent computer skills and user of MS Office programs and databases
- Excellent leadership skills and a passion for driving and nurturing teams
- Financial acumen (reading sales, activity, and financial reports) and change leadership to implement new initiatives
